There's nothing like the thrill of roaring across the water in a personal watercraft (PWC). But once the initial excitement has worn off, then what? Thankfully, with the current crop of PWCs, there's no shortage of fun activities for you to enjoy aboard your watercraft. In 2006, you'll find newly designed PWCs built for family fun and cruising, with neat features like pop-up cleats, removable storage bins and fuel flow meters complementing the high-performance engines, cool graphics, and cutting-edge hull designs. Time to let it rip!
Yamaha has significantly redesigned the three-passenger FX Cruiser lineup, adding a cool automotive-inspired dashboard, all-new instrumentation features, and bold color and graphics combinations. Pull-up cleats are an industry first, as is the fuel flow meter, both of which are designed to increase the lineup's cruising prowess. The Cruiser models also feature Yamaha's new SMC materials, which are colored to match the exterior color of paint, making the inevitable scratches less apparent. Other highlights include molded convex mirrors that are considerably more functional than the ones traditionally found on watercraft, an integrated beverage holder (nice touch!), and a reboarding step. When it comes to "cruiseability," these new Yamaha watercraft mark a big step forward for the industry.
Elsewhere in its lineup, Yamaha has introduced new color combinations and a new dashboard design (including integrated cup holder, dual convex mirrors and watertight storage) to its three-person FX series. The VX series and GP1300R also boast new color and graphics packages. www.yamaha-motor.com.
