Tired of smearing on those goopy sunscreens and getting the gunk all over? There's a different way to protect your head, neck and ears from the sun. Glacier Glove has developed a line of convertible hats ($19.95) with removable shades ($12.95) you can attach to the back of a cap for sun protection up to 30 SPF. And while at first you might feel a little goofy wearing it, you'll be happy at the end of a day out on the water when you remove the cap to discover that you saved yourself a painful sunburn. Be careful if you're moving at high speed, though, or it could fly off. In really hot weather, it's a good idea to dampen the shade to keep cool. You can buy the shade separately to wear with your own cap, too. - Kristy Alberty
