Pro surfer Shea Lopez recently won the 2008 Red Bull Tow-At event during the Sebastian Inlet Pro
surf contest. Shea’s brother Cory won a Sea-Doo watercraft at the inaugural event in 2005, and now
Shea has taken delivery of a new 2008 Sea-Doo GTI watercraft for his winning performance. “I won
the Tow-At a few years back, and it feels really good to win it again,” says Lopez, who took the
event win with a buzzer-beating forehand aerial.
All of the competitors demonstrated the sponsor’s tag line of “Red Bull gives you wings.”
After being towed into the peak of the wave break at roughly 20 to 30 mph, they were launched in
the air, performing gravity-defying maneuvers. BRP supplied the power with a custom 155-hp Sea-Doo
GTI SE watercraft, an ideal tow vehicle in surf conditions.
