Supra
bills its watersports boats as the “Lexus” of its brand family, and the Launch 22 SSV more
than lives up to its billing during a day of testing on Georgia’s Lake Lanier. Performance is
stellar, with the 22 SSV having no trouble whipping into a hard turn, a trait that will come in
handy if, say, you need to pick up a fallen wakeboarder.
Speaking of wakeboarding, the 22 SSV is well built for the task, delivering quick hole shots
and producing a beefy wake that you can customize to individual riders with the help of Supra’s
SmartPlate technology.
You also get tons of storage for your gear, rider-oriented rear-facing seating, and easy
speed control via the integrated PerfectPass system, which allows for control within 0.2 mph.
Beyond the great ride and sharp graphics are a plethora of top-notch standard features, including
the Rad-a-Cage tower with Swivel Board Racks and a MP3 Sirius-ready stereo with six cockpit
speakers. The cockpit matches the luxe feel of the rest of the boat, from the oversized Medallion
digital gauges to the upgraded leather-like 360-degree Syntec stretch vinyl.
