Streak Preventer

Black streaks on a boat's hull can be a nuisance to boaters.

Black streaks on a boat's hull, caused by deck water runoff, can be a nuisance to boaters. Instead of trying to clean them off with a chemical spray solution three or four times a year, prevent them from ever occurring with Ironwood Pacific Outdoors' StreaX ($7.95, www.ironwoodpacific.com). StreaX are plastic extensions that redirect water away from the side of the hull. Simply install at every drainage point, and watch them work. They're made from a clear material and are applied under the boat's rub rail, so once they're installed, they're virtually invisible. The only thing you see is the advantage of them working.
