Mercury Marine's New Outboard Engine Packed With Features

By Jennifer Dennard

The 20 hp FourStroke is the latest addition to Mercury Marine’s extensive lineup of outboard motors. At just 115 pounds, the portable, lightweight engine packs plenty of punch with a 351cc displacement.

A multifunctional tiller with shift-in-handle design provides steering, throttle, throttle friction, trim and stop control for easy, single-handed operation. Additional features include manual trim with automatic reverse hooks or power tilt; 15- or 20-inch shaft lengths; an accelerator pump for responsive acceleration; and an engine mount system designed to reduce vibration.

The engine is offered with a manual or electric start, which features standard automatic decompression. Electric start models are equipped with a manual-starter in case of low battery power.
