Life Jacket Loaner Program Looks To Expand

By Jennifer Dennard

The BoatU.S. Foundation for Boating Safety and Clean Water has begun a fundraising campaign in order to expand its Life Jacket Loaner Program, which loans life jackets to infants, toddlers and children at more than 350 locations around the U.S.

The campaign hopes to raise $50,000 in order to replace life jackets at current loaner sites and create new locations at boat ramps, boat clubs, bait shops, marinas, waterside resorts, tow boats, fire houses and other public places.

A $10 donation will purchase one life jacket, while a $250 donation will establish a fully stocked loaner site. Donations may be made online at www.boatus.com/foundation. They may also be mailed to BoatU.S. Foundation, c/o Life Jacket Loaner Program, 880 South Pickett St., Alexandria, VA 22304. Donations are tax deductible.

Visit www.boatus.com/foundation/ljlp to find a loaner location near you.
