This offshore 30-something center console falls under the category, "what's not to like?" So you
want a fully equipped bluewater boat that comes loaded with standard features but doesn't cost as
much as a condo on the ocean? Meet the Sailfish 30-06. At first, you might think the "30" part of
the boat's model refers to the number of rod holders, because you're only a couple away from
achieving that mark. Sailfish recognizes the fact that anglers put fishing stuff on the top of the
console, so they give you twin, double tackle compartments on top with lockable, Lexan covers. For
live baiters, there's a 50-gallon unit behind the leaning post that has a bait prep station,
freshwater sink, raw water washdown and more tackle storage. There's an additional 30-gallon
baitwell in the stern, along with a transom freshwater shower for divers and swimmers.
Like the "thirty-aught-six" name implies, this boat comes shooting out of the inlet in Miami
like a bullet out of a barrel at better than 50 mph with twin Yamaha F250s blazing on the transom.
With a true, deep-V multi-deadrise hull that measures between 22 and 24 degrees, the Sailfish has
no problem slicing through the chop, but with an extra-wide, 10-foot beam and beefy construction,
this isn't a boat that will slosh you around from side to side. The best part is that you get a
high-end boat without the premium price.
