The ProKat 2560 is designed for those who like a little variety in their boating. Up front, the
layout gives you twin recliners like a bowrider, but unlike V-hull boats that taper to a point in
the bow, the catamaran hull makes it nice and wide for extra room. And unlike most deck boats,
there's a raised sunpad in the bow with storage below. Comfortable wraparound cockpit seating makes
good use of space, and there's even a pair of tables that stow away when not in use. The captain
and co-pilot get comfortable, adjustable bucket seats. For entertaining, there's a wet bar with
cupholders for drink assembly and a carry-on Igloo cooler to hold refreshments underneath.
The ProKat 2560 features a pair of planing hulls, which give it an exceptional top speed of nearly 50 mph when powered with a pair of Suzuki 4-stroke 175s. The downside is that it also gives it a rougher ride in really choppy water, when compared to cats that feature displacement hulls. But for boaters who plan on activities like slalom skiing, this type of hull makes more sense, since it also creates a fairly flat wake. For anglers, there are four in-gunwale rod holders, built-in tackle boxes, a livewell and insulated fish box. There's also a charter boat-quality boarding ladder between the outboards that divers will love. www.prosportsboats.com. - A.J.
