Stay Shady

A new marine fabric allows for privacy as well as visibility.

August 1, 2006

Having some privacy while on your boat shouldn't mean you have to forfeit your view of the outside. Sunbrella® has created a new marine fabric called Sunbrella Shade  that allows for privacy as well as visibility. It's been designed to create window shades for boat cabins and screening as part of cockpit or bridge enclosures. The versatile open weave fabric allows light in so you don't have a hindered view of the outdoors, but blocks 84 percent of UVA and UVB rays. Its light-filtering system even reduces the inside temperature of the enclosures, creating a cooler interior environment. The Sunbrella Shade incorporates Sunbrella brand fabric technology for fade resistance, stain resistance and durability that resists mildew and UV degradation. The natural-feeling marine fabric comes in six great shades to suit your preference. Contact your marine fabricator for pricing information. (704) 926-1305, www.sunbrellashade.com.
