Summer's almost here, which means it's time for beautiful, sunny days on the water. The last
thing you want is to be unable to enjoy boating because the sun's reflecting off of the water and
glaring in your eyes. Thankfully, Oakley has released an eyewear collection designed exclusively
for women - so we no longer have to sacrifice visual clarity and protection for the sake of
fashion. Recently, I tested each of the three Oakley designs that comprise the collection -
Grapevine,™ Script™ and Dart™.
Though each pair is unique, they all feature Oakley's advanced technology that makes them loved by wearers both offshore and on - which means they're not only great for on-water activities, but also for everyday use. High Definition Optics® incorporated into the lenses extend clarity to the wide peripheral view, so no matter which way I look, the added lens coverage shields my eyes. The lenses are made from Plutonite®, which, according to Oakley, filters out 100 percent of UVA, UVB and UVC rays. I'm amazed how well I can see with these on; I almost feel as if they enhance my vision instead of impairing it, as some sunglasses do. This is probably due to Oakley's XYZ Optics®, which maximize clarity at all angles of vision. Another great feature is the gradient lens shading, which gives the sunglasses a varied field of light transmission from top to bottom - so the deeper coloration at the top helps dim the brightness of the sky, while the rest of the visual field is luminous.
Each style has its own advantages. Grapevine is the most lightweight and comfortable; Script has the most stylish and colorful frame; and Dart provides the best visual clarity. It all depends on what you're looking for, but no matter which you choose, you can't go wrong with any of the three styles. Prices start at $120, and vary depending on frame and lens color. All come with Oakley's exclusive eyewear case and Microclear™ bag for cleaning and storage. (949) 951-0991, www.oakleywomen.com.
