Furuno's new 1712 ($1,895) is a compact, waterproof 7-inch LCD radar
with a high-definition screen that displays echoes in four shades of grey. Because the LCD display
uses silver bright high-definition technology, you can see the display even in direct sunlight, and
conversely, at night with the reverse video feature. The 1712 can also be connected to a GPS or
DGPS navigator such as the GP 1650 or GP 1850 series to display waypoints and navigation
information.
